Looking at the options. Apparently acrylic glass is easy to polish but then I am better off putting on a SKX bezel with Seiko mineral glass that can actually take a beating. I think an SKX bezel with glass should fit just right. The dimensions match up...

The glass on my seiko 5 broke the first time i dropped it

I recently got it fixed but there's still a shard in there the watch repair man missed, so I have to go back to get it out.

The glass on my citizen h820 is sapphire. Had it about 5 months now and wear it every day, still no scratches.

I had a Vostok once but the movement was unreliable it would work fine for a week and then just randomly lose 30 minutes on my wrist one day.

Curious what the newer Hardlex glass is like. I love my Tag Heuer with the sapphire glass. Unscratchable.

My Boccia 3596 crystal is fine. It looses few to several minutes in a month. I bought it because it is made of Ti.. feels good.

My understanding is that the only watch for which one wouldn't necessarily prefer the sapphire is the Speedmaster Pro, in which case the hesalite is considered the must-have due to legacy/tradition/appearance.

Acrylic just has a different look, and can be easily restored with a little polish. It is also less susceptible to breaking due to impact. So it depends on what you're after. I agree most would probably want sapphire.

Many people swear by Polywatch, but I've hear toothpaste works as well.
