Ever since I went broke, that thing became the cornerstone of my headphone collection. Whatever happens, that is the headphone I have to keep around. It is the mini HD650 regarding sound.

I really have to try the porta-pros. Right now my go-to "cheap" and light headphone is the Sennheiser PX 100-II. They are very close to the HD650 in tone. I put HD 414 pads on them to increase the long-term comfort and the soundstage really opened up.

Koss seems pretty inconsistent. I bought their MV-40s awhile back at 5x the price of the of the Porta Pros and they were garbage. I wasn't super surprised that they sold for $30 a couple years later.

Porta-pro was where I started off with 20 years ago. I'll try to remember to grab a pair to bring to the next meet, whenever that ends up happening.

Take your KSC75s along as well. I'd be interested in experienced comment on my conclusion that the 75s are HD600 to the PortaPros' 650.
