    indirectly commenting a bit on the r2r massdrop drama lol... not really looking for anything, -- could you take i2s (basically left channel/right channel 32-bit voltage levels (but serial), and shift register it into a parallel r2r array, with your FPGA skills? ;D

    Would something like a df1704 work with a discrete DAC?

    Well if Scott is correct, that it is using parallel "loading", most dac chips take in serial data...so im not sure many, if any, of the off the shelf chips for that purpose would work.

    @SoupRKnowva - you are correct. Df1704 splits into left and right, but it's serial data.
