I'm ex military/navy/search and rescue etc. At some point a rescue mission becomes a media mission and that's when it goes wrong... and this is that scenario. In the ideal scenario you leave the mission in the best hands you can find and then you leave it alone, then after that it either succeeds or it fails.

A rescue mission is not, and should not be, a political statement.

So glad they were found after 8-9 days. Now the tricky part is getting them out.

@powermatic , love that one, nasty even by Wilder standards. Favorite is Double Indemnity

@Wilson, my fave is 'Sunset Boulevard'. Oddly disturbing. 'Some Like It Hot' right up there too.

@powermatic , Sunset Boulevard, yes. Narrated by a corpse, just brilliant.

@Wilson, Ha! Yeah, William Holden floating face down in a pool. 'How I Fucked Up My Life And Ended Up Dead.' Noir at its best.

@Wilson, same can be said for 'Double Indemnity', just great stuff. Wilder got away with shit during the Hays Code that few others did.

Noir was my favorite genre for a long time. Ever check out White Heat?

I've seen it many times, great Cagney. Also, one half of a title for a great Lou Reed song.

Don't forget 'Kiss Me Deadly', with the glowing briefcase Macguffin that Tarantino stole for 'Pulp Fiction'.
