    My understanding is that it's pretty finicky with Blu Ray. It takes some tinkering and even then only works with certain discs.

    Best bet is to use a converter. For my 3D blu ray I use BD3D2MK3D to convert it to MKV so I can watch on my TV from USB directly.

    Cyberlink power DVD is what I use for bluray playback. It's the only software I've found that can correctly load up and display menus. My bluray drive included a free copy but you could always easily download a keygen to create yourself a product key. Otherwise it is kind of an expensive product. Works great though. $80 and I believe the license does not expire.
