If you have some room to play with I'd go vintage JBL (12" 3-way); they'll be much more dynamic and with real bass. Recently got some L112's at home, and I love them so much I'm getting a pair of 4412A's for the office/studio. My Adam A5X's (+Sub8) sound like toys compared to the JBL's. Very precise and detailed, but toys.
I was never impressed with Adam. I have dual subs, so low end is not too much of a killer for me. Just want something with more "pop" and presence than my vintage KEF C75's. Almost picked up some L26's, but they needed too much work.
I really liked my Dynaudio BM15A although I don't have the space in the house for them currently. Passive version is BM15. They are big though and you'll need a hefty amp to get the best out of them probably.
@rtaylor76 I'll let you know how the 4412A's pan out, but pop and presence is exactly what I'm expecting (they share the same 12" driver with the L112, which is outstanding).
And @bengo, I used to sell the BM15A's and they blew most everything else we had out of the water, but didn't sell much too that hefty price tag. I think they had Bryston amps in them.
