Mid-fi beats the hell out of AirPods, Bose and Beats. This is the true purgatory.

Every time you're considering trying some different flavor of mid-fi, put that money aside. Before you know it, you can upgrade to something hi-fi.

Hi-fi, mid-fi... hard to define - so many influences: personal taste, available funds, etc. My hi-fi is something I purchased that doesn't leave me wanting an upgrade shortly after purchase. My Gungnir Multibit is "hi-fi," because it was the best I could afford after doing research, and I don't feel as though I shorted myself. :-)

When I started getting into nicer audio things, HD600 was pretty upscale! I splurged on an HD650 when they were about $500. That was... a decade or so ago?
