HD800 with some mods sounds better? That aside, they love tubes. Dunno if your Jonokuchi is gonna pair well though. Not so great for visceral music, but it's a decent all-rounder. THEY DENT EASILY, be careful.

Yeah, there is already a small dent, but it's not too bad.
I'll have to see how it pairs when I get back from my trip.

Do share impressions please! I've been considering a Jono build now that I've got spare time but I don't know how they'll pair with my biodyna kids. Haha.

Oh, and if you live in a humid climate (idk USA well) be cautious with the cables. They're wont to crack :/

Consider blocking the resonator and report back with impressions. I'm not sure it's as good as most people seem to think. Never tried sealing the hole myself though

I'll have to get my measurement rig from home (or get some time on the 5 figure dummy head at my school) before I do any changes.

Hd800s are certainly a weird fit on the head though, so big, with not deep pads and little clamp force. Very different from hd650. Comfortable though. And really cool looking.

Better than a stock HD800. Find a powerful amplifier that smooths out the FR or that nasty peak rears its head. Tubes work well with this headphone and in a good system you have an end-game headphone system.

@JK47 I will, but I went away for the weekend, so no hd800s.

Don't put them on back to front. It's easier than you might think!
