Unable to hear something at 500Hz is something you should maybe have checked, that should be well within most people's audible thresholds. Good luck :/
(+1 what is dBH, I was too afraid to ask earlier for fear of it being a brainfart, but Google has nothing)
@scapeinator1 no I have not, and my listening levels are in general much quieter than most. @cskippy dbH is db compensated for hearing curve. Thought it was a standard, but idk. But to pass a hearing screening, you should be able to hear to 20dB dbH
I got my hearing checked for the first time recently. I work at a university and was able to get a free screening, and I know they offered it to students in my area as well. If your school has an audiology department, you might be able to get tested at a convenient public event or swing by their facilities. Most schools try to provide for their students' basic health needs.
If no luck with that, check your insurance (ask your parents if you're on theirs) and find an audiologist to give you a test. It could be anything from earwax to damage from loud levels to an inflamed something-or-other. Don't panic. Just find out what's up and move from there.
@Serious Just the one ear. no other symptoms that I can see. Ill have to get a proper test done though. IDK, I felt like I could hear sounds from my ears/blood more than the test tones with the audiology headphones I had to wear.
Happened to me once - wasn't a test that revealed it, but tinnitus after seeing an extremely loud psychobilly band. Couldn't believe the size of the thing that came out...
