The only quad cable I have experience with is Canare Star Quad, which is fine with me but I prefer Mogami 2549 in my system (a bit more open up top as @Psalmanazar said).
I had planned on going the DIY route and had my cart ready to go at Redco, but decided to shop around for kicks and giggles and found proaudiola's cost of assembly to be very reasonable, and well worth it for me since I'm a slow solderer and needed a bunch of cables.
@westermac I got all mine from Take Five Audio in Canada. Little expensive for the fancy cryo, but when I got quotes for speaker cables from a couple other shops using crap banana plugs they weren't a whole lot cheaper. I really like the BFA / z-style banana plugs that Take Five offers.
Replaced Cardas cables in my system as I was sick of how expensive they were. ;)
my xlr-xlr shootout was: Gotham GAC-4/1 (good+), Gotham GAC-2 Ultra Pro (great), Moon Audio Black dragon (kinda meh), Belden 8402 (good at some things), Grimm TPR (good), and Mogami 2534 (meh). What I settled on was: GAC-2 Ultra Pro from Gungnir Multibit to Freya (xlr), GAC-4/1 from Freya to 2-ch amp (rca), 8402 from Freya to ZDTJr (rca).
