In our case it was written into the lease agreement something about "quiet enjoyment" so I can't even be loud during the daytime or they can evict us.

One time I was playing my bass guitar through 15” sub in an apartment in college. I then stopped and made some of those instant bake cookies. Police showed up just as I was taking the cookies out and said neighbor called and said we were having a loud party. “Nope, just baking some cookies, officer.”

Good thing we're not neighbours, bitching is the best case scenario. I never understood why people think it's fine to disturb others but my animal sacrifice is too much.

@m17xr2b I definitely do everything I reasonably can to not disturb the neighbor. I haven't enjoyed a movie in my home for years. The bass is set to -10, front towers are set to "small" so everything under 200hz goes to a sub that is turned off, and I'm constantly adjusting the volume to hear dialogue.

What I really mean is that I can't wait to enjoy bassy music and movies period, because I can't right now without pissing off my neighbors, which I try not to do ever.
