We were chatting about an IT project at 10am EST. 1 pm EST, he headed down to the conference room alone. Back office folks go looking for him. Finds the conference room locked. They get in, and he's laying there slumped over, dead. Nothing malicious or violent. But holy hell WTF.

A couple of kids along with a new baby girl born just a couple of years. Absolutely devastated for his family and loved ones. Workplace is absolutely shook. We don't know the particulars of what happened. I was chatting with him just a couple of hrs before he passed. Looked/sounded totally healthy. MAN.

Condolences my friend. In these kind of situations people often focus on the wellbeing of everyone around them, but make sure you look after yourself as well.

Hectic, @FlySweep. I can only imagine the impact on everyone affected. Take care and don't count counselling out if you have recourse to it.

Maybe a brain aneurysm. One in 50 people develop a brain aneurysm, but most do not rupture. Ruptures occur in about 30,000 people in the U.S. each year, and 40 percent of those cases result in death within 24 hours. Weird way to go. Sorry about your loss.

Brutal. Very sorry to hear about this. I can’t imagine the impact to his family and friends and coworkers. Take care of yourself and others. These times are a harsh reminder of the things that truly matter.

Holy crap, that's horrible. So young, so sudden...our brain often has a hard time comprehending this. Please take what people are saying seriously, if you're feeling out of sorts, talk to people. Take care of yourself.

Sudden cardiac death, brain aneurysm, etc. are especially hard to process when the person was so young. As others have mentioned this is a time worthy of counselling, therapy, group grieving, whatever works to help process a difficult situation. My condolences to you and everyone affected by the death.
