I don't think I have the safest campus, definitely not the safest city. A few years ago someone on campus got pistol whipped. And the city, Hartford, has a crime index of 5, meaning its only safer than 5% of cities in the US.

Doesn't hurt in life to learn a little defense, learn about force multipliers, deeper ideas on situational awareness, etc..
