This is for the Bifrost MB. One of the pets had fun messing with my desk, need a new cable.

And I get to listen to a cold BiMB again soon, yay!

It's audiophilia, can never have too much.

Jokes aside, 20A cable has a different plug in the US. I'd say just get the 10A cable, the thing only uses like 35w.

Okay that got a proper chuckle out of me, much needed :))

I admit ignorance on a great many basics of how gear works so I feel the need to get fact checked from time to time. Was just concerned plugging this straight into the wall might cause issues down the line.

The guy is right. You are in a 220v country, right? 10A is 2kW and 20A is 4kW. Both are massive overkill for the 0.04kW Bifrost

Current ratings are important for amplifiers but you can pretty much ignore it for DACs

Oh just to be clear, I was looking for a 10A since I figured I might as well get as close as possible to the cable I got with the Bifrost after I had the voltage changed. Guy was trying to sell a 20A and said it wouldn't have made a difference, I was thinking along the same lines as you @Cspirou, though it wasn't as precise in terms of numbers :))

    240V btw, 220V is... japan?

"Current ratings are important for amplifiers but you can pretty much ignore it for DACs" This, I did not know. Learned something new again today, though I suspect I probably should have known this by now, haha. Grazie!

Japan is weird and has 100V.

I edited that out because I realised I was off as soon as I hit send, haha. Putting it back in to rightful shame XD

I'm reading up on why the F japan is using 100V. It's... confusing.

    P.S.
Cold BiMB is as fun as I remember. My cans are already pretty shit at treble and this exacerbated the problem, especially since I used Victorious by P!atD as my first track. Murder on my ears.

    I swear that was a total coincidence @Cspirou :))

I think current rating for cables is only truly important when you use them with power amps for speakers, and then you run into an entirely different universe of issues altogether. Like Cspirou said, either one is massively overkill for your needs.

Haha, duly noted. I actually ended up finding a 10A after a bit more looking around. It's another cheap-butt cable, but it suits my needs for now.

I can confirm that Panic at The Disco sounds like shit on a cold Bifrost

    ....and a warm one

Yah, you need moar excitement when it comes to anything to do with "panic" and/or "disco", rite?

Haha! Only up to the point where it crosses over into "bloody trash fire" territory, then I'm good :P

I've had the opportunity to try a few DACs over the last year or so and realised the BiMB has definite failings. Been thinking of finding something cheaper since money would be nice but I'll miss the presentation, plus it's got sentimental value since I got it off a cool dude.

Also, looking over my components, my rig is all over the place. I've had a lot less time to listen lately but the sound is relatively close to what I'm into with some elbow grease, so I can tolerate it.

    Just barely :P

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. That's my motto these days.

...and that's coming from a guy whose gears are 99% modded in one way or another.

It's especially fun considering my rig is the sonic equivalent of tossing weights on either end of a seesaw to try and keep things level, haha.

And hey, at least you're into the fine adjustments phase! I'm still looking for a sound I can live with haha.

Only really matters for fuses, BTW. There, if you buy a bigger than original you have the possibility that some issue might kill something important inside instead of the fuse.

That's what I was worried about, yep. Either way turns out I can just shrug it off with DACs, so it's one less thing to worry about :P
