Might be worth getting a professional opinion on that, could save you oodles of trouble later on.

Already scheduled an appointment with an audiologist to happen when I get back from vacation. This concerns me.

similar issue, but left ear. I blame standing next to amps on stage level at Flaming Lips gigs in the late 80s.

It seems this problem is exacerbated by any planar magnetic headphone. Dynamics don't seem to exhibit this as much. Hypothesis: the way planars stage doesn't work as well with my hearing (or lack thereof).

IME planars crackle when jiggled on head, usually have greater airtight seal than "normal" dynamics. Maybe it's the air pressure differential f'ing with your tympanic membrane or something in the cavity behind?

There's a ton of literature on how the illusion of headphone soundstage and imaging work, you could maybe isolate individual variables and trace back.

... Sorry, went dumb nerd a bit. Whatever it turns out to be just defer to the audiologist, and perhaps give your ears a break.

I have some hearing damage and the audio image seems to favor the right. I thought there was an imbalance in one pair I had, but it's consistent with every headphone and speaker.

I'm definitely not ruling out hearing damage. It's just strange that some headphones seem to show this more (although I'm reasonably certain one of my pairs has very real channel imbalance; manufacturer messaged. Will remain unnamed because I'm giving benefit of doubt here).

It's very real though; even my PC speakers sound unbalanced.

I’ve had a similar experience. What happens when you swap the headphones around on your head? I recommend running a tone sweep and tracking how much the center moves around and at what frequencies.

What happens is that the center is still left of center.

Do both your ears crunch or pop normally when you swallow with your mouth closed? I’ve had one or both not clear when my eustachian tubes get clogged up, particularly after a cold.

I had this happen a few days ago with the Verums. Right side was sounding off. Realized it was the pressure from the pad causing my jaw to tense up messing up the pressure on the right side, which I've always suspected had a smaller inner ear cavity.

No, this doesn't happen to me. I'm inclined to think it's hearing damage but....I need a professional opinion.

Yes, get to an audiologist ASAP, do not delay. Ounce of prevention vs pound of cure.

If there is wax build up be very wary of any extrication method other than manual. I had a colleague have one ear destroyed by using a high pressure air cleaning method. That was criminal; the victim was recording engineer Frank Laico.

I’ve read some horror stories about untrained nurses using something like this and people ending up permanent tinnitus. Better to try some olive oil in there first if it is wax, it’ll break it down gently.
