It comes to no one's surprise that the Arya Organic is not to my liking. Solid C+ with my planar hat on maybe. Has a few huge drawbacks. Apr 12, 2024 at 3:21 PM

They're trying to influence the court over the pending decision for the NY anti-gun law. But the constitution's pretty clear…

I'd rather see mandated gun training, so everybody would be less panicky about them.

I think it's VA where there's still a state law requiring a long gun to be owned by every able-bodied male of age.

This is why my days of critically comparing X vs. Y in structured listening tests are mostly over. It's just too much work. I don't swap stuff out that often and know the characteristics of the system. If the changes from the new component appeal to me then great, but I don't sweat over something being .02587459% better than what I'm used to.

Euforia will probably take at least 20 minutes to warm up and sound decent. OTLs are kind of a PITA in that regard. Interested how it fares as a preamp (in general and vs Freya+) after reading @Vtory 's impressions. Apples and oranges of course, etc etc.

I still keep my very early LCD-2 (Sept 2010). Actually quite like the Eikon pads on them. The bass texture is sublime, though it's certainly quite grainy and dry on top compared to the modded HFMs. I wish the Audezes were built in a way more conducive to modding, but oh well. Brencho borrowed them for a while and they were killer on the Stratus. Way better than expected.

Given how humid it's been lately, I often turn my A/C on to dry when I'm in my room, which has the inadvertent side effect of making the air cooler. My cruddy main rig is a laptop into the audio stuff off in a corner of my room, definitely warmer :))

Define "shit recording", though - to me, that's zero dynamic range music (a significant proportion of modern pop), but music with lower levels of noise reduction like Miles Davis's Kind of Blue are perfectly fine recordings imo. I can't see the former being much good for comparisons since they are practically designed to be played on shit equipment.
