Now it is hardwood floor sand & restoration. Boxing up instruments, gear, mics, etc. Taping off areas, entryways in anticipation of hardwood dust clouds. Maybe back in business by mid Sep. Floors should only take a few days but cleaning and putting everything back will be a major project.
@Syzygy : My sympathies to your neighbor. Fixing the plumbing was the least expensive part. Brand new hardwoods!!!! At least mine are 30+ years old with extensive wear & tear.
My empathy as well. Water damage is ridiculous to deal with, hope repair and preventive maintenance go smoothly! I wish I could say advice to go over *every*thing with a fine-tooth comb is hyperbole, but you never know.
Oh damn. I know exactly how you feel. We just got our new carpet laid last week after finally sorting out all the flood damage from earlier this year. Good luck getting set up again. It really does take its toll.
Actually, we also have water damage. We are building an extra room on the flat concrete roof. That roof is not the best roof in the world, and the building has disturbed it. But our damage (so far, fingers crossed) is limited to dripping water and some ruined paint which is only a year old. Hardly worth mentioning in this context, but I'm annoyed that the builder didn't forsee it.
