I did some experimenting with the turntable with headphones. It's actually quite cool, but I really only can see myself using the headphones with the turntable if I want to listen to vinyl while keeping quiet at night. Others may chime in here.
Headphones, speakers... is not the issue. And doesn't matter in the least.
I'm not very keen on the idea of getting into vinyl. Unless you just inherited your great uncle's gear and pristine record collection, in which case... wow! Better than the money!
This only applies to me, but I really like vinyl+headphones because it essentially immobilizes and eliminates distraction (no PC nearby unlike my digital rig). It sounds quite different, I like having that variety, and puts me in a better place to listen critically. YMMV, but this may resonate with others too.
Vinyl really is a hobby unto itself. If you don't have any investment in it, find someone who does, where you can listen. You'll hear differences, but you may not like it.
I like the vinyl ceremony. But I also have access to > 300 classic records.
I've heard some well configured TTs before (some super heavy ones included). Great quality heck yes. But I can't estimate underlying effort/time/energy to get everything right. It seems a world where experts can benefit.
It's not really as bad as it seems. It does take about an hour to get it dialed in (actually the Schiit video was quite good, so maybe less with such an easily adjustable TT). Most of the tables we had when I was young weren't so easy.
