My kids are eating ice cream mooncake as I read this.

Mid autumn festival? Mooncake? I don't know these things

@spawth, well, now you have a reason to ask a cute Chinese girl about it.

Never ate any mooncake that made me go, “That was really good!” They have a surprisingly high amount of calories too so it’s just a waste.

Is it one of those things like some Japanese sweets, where the emphasis is on the presentation and appearance, not the flavour?
@Kunlun, if you are in Singapore's Funan Digital Mall food hall, see if there is an unusually tall Chinese lady still working at the Japanese-food stall, and say hello from me.

@DigMe Try some of the ice cream mooncakes. Much better.

Or Teochew yam mooncakes. Basically yam paste (which is cooked with some lard) covered in a flaky pastry. Better value for calories gained.

Of course ice cream mooncakes would taste better but no one ever gives me those.

@Thad E Ginathom Nah, most Chinese say they love the flavor. They're not horrible just dont do anything for me.
