The different time argument is nonsense in this case. The photo isn't from 1937. Trudeau went to school at the same time as I did, later even. As for "it was 20 years ago", how come you guys will never find photos of me in brown-face, KKK outfits, Nazi SS uniforms, etc? Heh, I was waiting for the response to that one. Yeah he isn’t perfect, but he has done many things I appreciate, so that’s about all I can say about it. But all of it is overshadowed by scandal, so we’ll see what happens.

Don't get me wrong, I think he has done some good things too. Most of the parties have some good ideas and some bad ones. I do think alternating regularly minimizes the excesses of any of them. I'm happy to live somewhere that is an option, and that who is in power is not a matter of life or death.

Voters respond to charisma and brazen confidence just as much as sound policies, sometimes more favourably towards the former. It's bullcrud but people's brains are weird that way.

Being a left-leaning centrist on most issues I do think that Trudeau has his share of upsides and down, but for the most part agree that he's frighteningly skilled at deflection.

He’s garnered quite a few votes of people that voted for his father, the fringes of society, and minorities/refugees that reap the benefits of the welfare/social assistance system. While Veterans that have served are left homeless and without support. He knows who to target for votes, that’s about all he’s good for.

There's a reason I left Canada. I love Toronto, but in the job interviews there, I always got this sense of "oh, you little yellow person" while the elite ruled from their secret underground lair under the Toronto City Hall dome. Hard to explain, just a sense. I actually felt London was more of a meritocracy, like the US. Except with much less working and living space.

I feel like half the outrage about this is fueled by 'white guilt.' =/
