TBH Verite open is my second least favorite ZMF (even though I still love them relative to so many other things). To each their own...

^and this is why I don't recommend blind buying Verite. I like the Verite, but wouldn't have known if I didn't audition. I am curious how Verite + Starlett does in terms of synergy.

@E_Schaaf can you talk more about your perceptions with verite?

I've always felt that Verite's top octave and a half were a bit dry and brittle compared to the others, even on an uber-smooth amp like Euforia. Verite does excel at microdynamics and detail over the others, but at the cost of some added grain to my ears.

They have a good dose of that ZMF midrange bloom, but the mid response to me feels a bit too colored (time domain) and not particularly even - the 1k-5k area isn't particularly linear. Imparts a character that's pleasant at first but feels heavy-handed as time goes on. I always know I'm listening to the Verite when i'm listening to the Verite. Definitely not an all-purpose headphone.

Wow @E_Schaaf I feel differently about Verite treble. I feel it is butter smooth and like my keto diet - grain-free.

DO NOT BLIND BUY ANY HEADPHONE that cost vacation $$$ !!!

You're in the "buying too much shit" part of the hobby. If you don't slow down you'll look like/be spending like @songmic soon.
