I've always thought the Aeons look pretty cool. And the price is decent for a boutique headphone too. But nobody seemed to hold onto v1 for very long

To be fair, I loved the Aeon 1 and it fits neatly into my price bracket for headphones. The soundstage, though, was a deal breaker and the reason I sold them. Any version that fixes that particular issue has my full attention.

You might be in luck, @Skyline. According to Jude’s video (I know, I know), the improved soundstage is the biggest sonic difference between v1 and v2. He singled it out several times. I would like to hear one honestly

I have to say, that new folding headband design is pretty smart and unique.

The original Aeon Closed is the best work headphone I've ever had, by a mile. There are things better than it, but not that are closed and in its price range, as far as I can tell. I'd be very interested in the new one if I hadn't ordered a Verite Closed...

@mkozlows my daily driver for the last 4 years has been the Oppo pm-3. I got them reupholstered a couple weeks ago. I'll have to check these out.

The one combo that stuck with me long after I sold it was the AFO+Gilmore Lite MK2. Great tone and timbre. Sold it on the account that the small sound stage made me feel claustrophobic. I may need to revisit that combo and see if I can’t simplify my set up.

I bought A2C after not liking it at CAF, and in my own system I have to say I'm impressed. The Staging, detail and less coarse mid-range are the most noticeable improvements, OG AFC Sounds kinda honky in comparison. Macrodynamics are better too still not quite on par with HD 600 but better than Ether CX or OG AFC for sure
