Should we have falsified the results? What other company is doing blind listening...and reporting results that go counter to their dogma? Again, not surprised at the results, we could do the same thing and it might go 100% opposite next time based on music, group, and preferences.
Yeah it’s a tricky thing. Obviously it’s system/synergy dependant to a certain degree. A/B is also tough because sometimes things that impress you initially, annoy you over time. DACs are things you tend to need to have some time with. The differences are smaller and less apparent when doing quick switches - I can’t calibrate my ears that quickly to microdynamics and plankton.
Psh, I never got off the Gungnir DS hype train, I still love mine, preferred it to Gungnir Multibit A2 even. Cant wait for the Unison USB upgrade, I upgraded it to gen5 when I bought this one used.
it brought a smile to my face to see @purr1n mention the Gungnir DS again, but he is well aware of my love affair with that DAC. Can still remember falling in love with it back on the Loaner we did for it after gen2 usb came out and Marv decided it was good.
But yeah Jason's right. The results could swing in favor of MB with different people in the room, maybe different speakers, etc. People have different tastes /shrug
I really enjoyed the Convert-2 when I heard it on the loaner, its the obvious step up from the Gungnir DS. But, I decided it wasn't worth the money vs the Gungnir I already had ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
