Because op amps in DACs hardly see a reactive load.

AFAIK, and may be misunderstanding, DAC output stages don't offer the sort of challenges to opamps that something like a headphone load would.

That is pretty much what I said @Hands, so yes, I agree.

Basically what rtaylor and Hands said. There's a reason that we use one OPA1662 stage per channel in Modi, and one OPA1662 stage as voltage gain only to drive eight (8) paralleled OPA1688 stages per channel in Heresy--and the OPA1688 is rated at 75mA output current!

OPA1688 is plenty stout, but there are better (OPA1656, etc). And they all pale when compared to the 3A rated parts in Magni 3+ and 30A (yes, 30 amps) rated parts in Jotunheim R.

Fun stat: it would take about 180 paralleled OPA1688 stages to equal the current delivery of Jotunheim R...per channel.

Thank you all for great explanations! I hardly see op amp specs so didn't realize those chips lack current that badly.

it would appear Jason has the layout for a "Parallel OPA Stage" amp ready for production! easy POS acronym as well.
