To each their own. Several of the songs on The Wall are a little too "theatrical" for my taste.

WYWH is their best. I get a little soul.

@Skyline it’s a ‘rock opera’, so I guess that would make sense. To me it is dramatic, dark, desperate, dystopian, and just great rock. I can listen to the whole thing from start to finish in a single sitting easily.

WYWH is up there for me too. I prefer both over DSotM. The Wall never makes #1 on their best albums list, and prob not their best album musically, but emotionally it’s powerful.

Yea, have to agree with Wall > WYWH > Dark Side. Dark side always reminds me of the acid hangouts of my youth, and a local band that thought they rocked, trying to play Money and butching it :-)

    Neither. Nothing.

    That is, nothing after Meddle.

    @thad ^ dislike!

Haha. Yeah they changed shortly after Meddle for sure (and Obscured is not good). Can understand if their early stuff is what you prefer, since what came after was quite different.

I forget that Meddle is an album. Echoes and the rest is filler.

Animals is my favorite from the Pink Floyd discography.

@rlow, what annoyed me about Dark Side was that it seemed to be the Pink Floyd trying to sound like the Pink Floyd!

I'm referring back to how I felt at the time, mostly. Haven't really listened in a while.

I saw the Pink Floyd in Wembley, London, in early 1970s. Except that, due to entirely avoidable circstances, I can't really say that I /saw/ them. Or had much of a clue what happened. Probably went home muttering, "Wow... Far Out!" ;)

I occasionally listen to a song or two from Relics. I must see if I even have Atom Heart Mother and Meddle any longer

@Skyline agreed. I only like half the album: the rest is unlistenable filler.

@thad ha! I prefer the Syd Barett stuff but I haven't played that record in ages. I might think its crap today.

Can’t rank them. Saw Roger Waters last year and realized I love them all. Nobody was like Floyd.

For me ever since Roger Waters became a whiny bitch I was like F Off. The Wall/The Final Cut sounds like Roger Waters being Emo as hell with a dildo up his ass. I hated his solos except for Radio KAOS. Yeah the fans will kick my ass but my story is true.

@RobS ... See my signature to know that I'm particularly fond of the Syd Barett album.

By the way... Ummagumma was the first non-classical album I ever bought, as my late-started journey into rock began. I have no idea why I chose it, but I've been careful with axes ever since. And listened out for dog foxes.
