Tried swapping tubes (R to L, L to R), the crackling sound still remains on the same channel (right). It doesn't get louder when I crank the volume. Tried leaving it on for a while before trying the amp again. Tried cleaning tubes. Not sure about cleaning the sockets, which are the main suspects to me, since I was afraid of f'ing things up.
Swap the tubes. Put the left tube in place of the right one and Vice versa. If the crackle changed the channel, the air gets into the tube. If the crackle did not change the channel-see the contacts of the tube socket. It is possible that some contacts are unclenched and do not have a stable electrical contact.
@Zampotech Oops, I've just sent the amp to the repair shop. :'( He did a quick check and there seemed to not be any trouble with the socket. He still needs a few days to thoroughly check everything since his repair queue is long.
There's no crackling sound or anything of the sort when the amp is off.
