What input are you using? I find the differences to be more tonal than almost anything.

When I made the jump from Gungnir Multibit to Yggdrasil, I struggled in deciding between the two using Vidar with my speakers. But once I paired the DACs with Aegir, I feel like I finally heard Yggdrasil's superior resolving abilities.

For instance, with Yggdrasil I started to easily hear more of how the vocalist moved around the mic, and whether they sang more from the chest or head. I don't think this adds much to musical enjoyment, but this level of detail does increase the goosebump factor at times.

Music source? Hopefully keep trying it in different combinations of headphones and amps to see what the stuff downstream may be coloring or not.

DSHA-3F & Liquid Platinum are the only amps. I've tried all my headphones (Utopia, Auteur, HEKv2, Ether 2, RAD-0). Just got HD-800S -- will test with them tonight. All analog connections are balanced. The thing is, I could clearly distinguish between A2 Gungnir Multibit & Denafrips Pontus.
