Tell me about it. My city (Hong Kong) has been in total freakout mode for a month, flew the family overseas to avoid the craziness of schools being closed for 2 months and all the playgrounds shut down.
Yeah we left to go to Malaysia and Thailand on vacay and then everything went off the rails. Extended our time in Thailand by 3 weeks and changed our return flight to go through Seoul instead of Guangzhou..
Well that sure backfired as of this week! We decided to go back to our city since everyone in the ground says it’s getting back to normal (over 1000 miles from Wuhan) so we rebooked through Singapore to avoid Korea issues
Then we get into Singapore last night for an 11 hour layover and found out from friends that things have changed in our city. All incoming international travelers are required to have blood drawn and medical exam and then strict quarantine for 14 days monitored by district officials. No leaving apt at all. We decided that would all be too hard on the kids. One is on autism spectrum.
Holy cow, yeah, your plans are being totally and utterly shot.
Kids kept inside all day will just go stir crazy, what's why I got mine out asap.
Ive been through the last minute travel plans shambles recently for the same reason. It's bloody stressful to plan and to take care of kids in an unfamiliar environment at the same time.
We may just go back to the US for a while. I dont really want to but once we get there it would be the least stressful place for the kids to be versus waiting it out in Thailand. I dont think we could afford to wait it out in Singapore. This place is pricy! We’re still thinking about it though.
