Simple. 10% of any income, whether active or passive. No exceptions, exemptions, or other social engineering. 10%, rich pay too.

If only it could be so simple! I wonder if any one person has read the entire tax code...

I mean it's not like other countries have done this before to the tune of 90%+ compliance and lower tax rates.... too bad our Congresspeople need campaign donations/bribes... and maybe jobs too after they leave DC... and they're such cheap sellouts.

Don’t need flat rates for simplicity (and graduated rates are necessary for equality of sacrifice, given the declining marginal utility of each dollar). These days Excel could handle any tax code we want. Lobbyists, the revolving door, etc. are what’s standing in the way of much simpler, fairer taxes.
