I was thinking contemporary, i.e. 2000s onwards, haha. Fan of cummings (who isn't? :P) but had not heard of Vicente A. In retrospect, probably should stick around 20th century haha.

Enjoy the works of Christina Rosetti, Ada Limon, Edgar Allan Poe, etc.

My two favorites are definitely not modern: Lao Tzu (of Tao Te Ching fame) and Rumi.

Haha, guess I just have *some* inkling of traditional flavours and am just curious what newer kids have to offer.

I'm not a huge poetry buff, but I really enjoy the work of Robert Bly and Mary Karr. Sinners Welcome was published pretty recently, 2006 I think.
