    No specific idea on dali but based on its spl sensitivity:

    Crown xls 1002 (or 1000 used) -- way cheaper than your budget
    Used vidar -- safe way to go
    Emotiva pa1 (x2) -- when on a sale

    Integrated amp or power amp? Any other types of requirements wrt size, inputs, heat etc? Class D is the obvious choice if you want cold and clean for cheap...

    Forgot to mention this will be out of a vinyl rig. Rega RP1 table, pre is Rega Fono Mini A2. Looking for a power amp.

    For cheap options, I used an SMSL SA-50 when I was first starting out. On the cold and clean side, for sure.

    Aesthetics inform the decision for tubes, haha. From what I gather her uncle is a proper ORFAS member and she gets stuff off him, but wants to keep components to a minimum now, i.e. as few things in chain as possible, and small.

    Compact size would be another issue for something with enough power to drive inefficient speakers like that. Most compact tube amps are low powered and volume and bass reproduction will be a major problem unless she is nearfield (and even then, bass could be a challenge). Hybrid may be better. Like you said, maybe she should just get on here and ask herself :)
