Reviews in general are taken with salt, but even more more so if no measurements. A few sites that do measurements: Stereophile, Soundstage, Hi-Fi News, Sound on Sound.

I don't even read non-SBAF reviews anymore. With some members here, I think I understand just enough of their preferences to triangulate and guess what something sounds like. I'm not Marv though; I can't channel people's consciousness.

Luckily in the headphone space, yeah there are tons of great folks on here who have heard a ton of shit and who can be trusted (or at least understood as far as preferences). And of course, many do their own measurements.

2-channel stuff is not as common though, but still would trust SBAFers over most mags on that too.

I watch or read reviews just see how full of crap some reviewers can be and see if they will ever break from their normal bias. Checking to see Steve Guttenberg dislikes a product for the first time, remembering Zreviews has terrible tastes, gauging how sensitive Josh Valour is to treble, if DMS can ever maintain consistency in his work/format and figuring out if John Darko is talking about the device or food.

Honestly, published measurements are more or less not that informative to me. Sensittity not bad (good measuring speakers sound ok at least), but terrible specificity (idiosyncratic measuring speakers do wonder pretty often). Impedance curve is the most helpful resource imho.
