Thinking of going to a store to audition iems by campfire, final, inear, dita, tago, meze. I have no idea where to start and probably a good way to get an idea of what's out there and what you can get for your money.

DAP I need something that can stream Qobuz. They have A&K, Fiio, Shanling, Lotoo.

Any idea how to get started?

I don't have the most experience in IEMS (only own CA Andromeda) but as with any purchase would decide the budget, then start with those sound signatures you prefer and just move from there. As for DAPs I only hear good things about A&K and Fiio. A&K SR25 look really cool

For whatever it's worth, and the jury's still out in my mind, I've asked the few TOTL IEM makers I've met at trade shows, and they all use their mobile phones. Campfire is an exception, for obvious reasons. In any case, transducers first. @Kunlun

Pro Stage/Studio monitor makers are usually up-front about their products needing juice to sound right. Convenience is often king, so honestly, as long as you're cool with playing out of a phone, it's fine. But best practices are: Consider the sound you want, then an iem (and transducer type), then a DAP to drive it.

Thanks! I know where to start now. I will probably have to be patient and take some time to figure those things out first!
