For me it's an ephemeral experience, happens maybe once every 2 years. There's no recipe that always works.

The first time I hear a song that has great dynamics and I can also perceive a proper soundstage with headphones (which is rare for me). Sadly it is rare.

Usually it is more some powerful and profound lyrics that do it for me eg from Rush's Manhattan Project the story builds up to "The pilot of Enola Gay flying out of the shock wave on that August day". Moving stuff, for me anyway.
