"Guess Sennheiser is linux?" Takes a bit of thinking about, but once you realise how it fits together it makes sense and you start actually enjoying fixing it.

@neogeosnk does he still charge a 25% restocking fee? I felt that was a bit steep.

Nvm just checked their FAQ and it’s 10%. That’s fair. Was a lot higher when the Eikon launched.

@Melvillian I think that's still in place, this is a small business not Amazon so I have no problem with that.

@Riotvan If the HD650 were anything like my first...many, many exposures to Linux, I don't think the 650 would get a whole lot of love.

Fair enough but it depends on your pov. The analogy in my head is if you pick the right distro and hardware like picking the right amp and dac you can get some truly great results. If you know what you're doing you don't have to spend much but it will scale like mad. Think supercomputers etc.

Nowadays if you install Fedora it will work out of the box on most and even new hardware. Like you can plug 6xx's into a cheap amp and source and still get acceptable results.

I was subtly praising Linux against Windows: Absolutely not Mac.
@Hands, My late-start computer days began with Unix; I loved it at first sight; I hated MS at first site.

My early attempts with Red Hat, however, were a non starter. So, sadly, I left Linux alone for years.
