I stand by all my initial assessments. Paired with Verite (and perhaps with hd650 too) it satisfies my guilty Jotunheim desire more perfectly than Jotunheim. Never ever imagined op amp ruled my deskfi.

I have a JDS Labs C5 dac/amp that 5 years old I think. Its about the size of a phone and runs off battery. It has an AKM chip (older one) and a Ti op amp output section (can't remember which one). I love that darn thing. It has a nice tonal/timbre balance (slightly warm), and enough resolution for what it is

If it had Gungnir/Yggdrasil MB resolution etc., I would prefer it over the Asgard 3 as well...

Though with Focal's, it's Asgard (or even better, BW2) all the way ;)

For dac, to me it's pretty clear bifrost 2 is too distinctly good. With that (and verites) fixed in the rig, my amping preference converges to this amp. Funny I quite consistently loathed thx, heresy, and atoms with verite. Now this tiny headamp takes nearly 95% of my headtime over continuity.

Haha. I would NEVER put Asgard 3 with and ZMF cans. Curious how the rumored Magnius will stack up the Billie Elish amp.

I do want to hear it side by side with my amp as soon as it's out. Hope it be a successor of my beloved Jotunheim.
