How much trouble would that be though, not to mention a lot of it will just be [troll no. X] or [deaf and opinionated]. Will temp bans qualify for wiki-ing or nah? Upkeep!

More relevant: what use might there be in knowing? Transparency and accountability? Lot of work, and while it'd offer context it may not justify effort expended.

Better idea about what not to do. Looking back, I really felt confused when people were banned and recovered frequently. I am a believer of easy access (regarding what you shouldn't do) motivating higher compliance on average.

For example, suppose I am not interested in Verums so don't read verum threads. But the reason that guy executed must be shared on a whole forum basis no matter I am busy this week or not. I also never want to see similar guys committing similar sins. While there's no easy prevention, better informing do more good.

Point well taken, but that's the whole point of the HTWFAIP subforum and it didn't take long to skim it and get a feel for local norms.

Or maybe I'm just often bored and like internet drama.

Keeping a running list of temps? Shudder. I dunno, is XenForo equipped to do something like have individual Executed tags linked to single "reason for ban" posts?

I originally thought so for HTW. But it turns out the subforum covers wider spectrums.

Anyway, I am not so certain. That's why I scribbled in the profile post to hear opinions safely (so, thanks much for sharing your view). Kudos to my chicken heart!

I think that's a lot of work. Then again, if you look at a Executed Member's Post, you can see the reason. @zerodeefex and others make it quite clear on why (unlike that other place).

A list of bans + reason + time would be cool

I want the expectations to be sort of clear but I don't have the time to keep a thread of "who was banned for what" updated and clean right now.

A brief commentary like on the back of the bubble pack GIJOE figurines from the 80's. "Their specialties", traits, and a summary.

@JK47 I would love your help with this. This might make maintaining a ban thread worthwhile.

I really don't get what the benefit would be in putting the effort to maintain such a thread when you can just use simply detective reasoning. If they were temporarily banned then it was probably because they blew up and needed time to cool off. If they were banned permanently they were probably a dipshit..

Reading the 10 articles of sbaf behavior is all that is needed for compliance. This a forum not the free masons or Illuminati. Executions (timed or perm) are given out lightly (I hope) without good reason. You are already in high compliance.

I think it seems like a good idea that might not work out so well in practice. The current example came as such a shock to me that I had to do all the reading to get to grips with it. No way it would have fitted in a spreadsheet cell. No quick simple summary that would make sense without finding out the whole story.

Links in the profile to said story would help bring context. It would have to be written by someone that made the decision and the reasoning behind it.
