You're right though that it helps a ton to have context through being familiar with a reviewer's preferences.

There are times when I think this forum can be too hard on new members.

This is not one of those times.

I always want randos at least take as much time as possible in elaborating subjective arguments before hitting "submit". "I like it (over X)" level simplification is only acceptable for well known and respected members (myself not included). Very rarely some randos/contributors meet this expectation though.

Honestly it's annoying but it's entertaining at times. I just don't get why they think they can come in and stir the pot like that.

@Lyander I don't think we are hard on new members if they didn't read the required threads when signing up (for crying out loud the threads are linked during the registration process). Don't blame us if you don't know how to read.
