Yep, not good for a guy like me who don't really game that much. But the real question is what cores will be on it once the unit is released next year.
Cool. These Analogue machines have a lot of sweet features. It's too bad I would have to re-buy a lot of the old carts. Used game prices are getting crazy.
So you can run ROMs on them? But wouldn't that still be doing it thru some kind of emulator? Isn't the whole point of the Analogue stuff not to play games via emulation?
I was planning on preordering in the morning. Too many fond memories of the gameboy and gameboy advanced. The possibilities for the second fpga are also exciting
I'm too lazy to do a MiSTer setup (mostly due to I don't game much), but if I was still heavy into my gaming from the late 80s/90s then a MiSTer is a MUST.
I kind of wish they would say more about the second fpga. Like why they chose to use a second one instead of just let third party cores run on the main one. Is it a smaller fpga? What sorts of cores will fit? Maybe if I signed up to show interest in developing a core they’d give me more details
They probably don’t want the primary FPGA messed with because they want to guarantee a certain functionality for people who buy it. I’m sure an “unofficial” jailbreak will let people do whatever they want at some point
Yeah I got one. I’m sure they will be available again. I doubt they spent all this money on developing the thing to not try and sell as many units as they can.
