Gilmore Lite 2 was one of my favorite amps for a few headphones. Especially the Aeon Open Flow. Very competent amp but the gain should of been adjusted. Made my E-Mu Teaks go from low level listenable to ouch when barely moving the pot.

It impressed me so much that went looking for a big boy gilmore amp and picked up a balanced dynahi (which I guess is called a dynamite). Yggdrasil A1+Dynamite+Verite Closed= Holy moly.

I'd like to see a ZMF closed cans for 600USD that have less blurriness than Eikons. Thank you.

@dark_energy You should ping @zach915m to know this need. lol. By the way, for a lot less than Eikon price, what would you compromise or sacrifice from Eikon to meet the price? I'm assuming you may still want something slightly better than TH-X00 right? Just curious about how much tradeoff you would accept.

Not trying to bitch or anything but anyrhing over 1.2k is speaker territory for me. I can buy high end.speaker drivers for this.money

My life pattern allow way more hours with headphones. So I'm kinda thinking the other way. 2k and above are acceptable only for headphones. Below is a speakers territory for me. Fortunately I have super nice speakers in the room that can work greatly for me!

Ok, cool. I am into portable stuff like sealed hps and maybe some better IEMs. I move around a lot at work and also I like to have music at home when I do stuff at times and for noise canceling.

Headphones rock for practical stuff when you want to cancel out somones balbbering or noise, or want to zone out.

Adding some more situations: (1) you constantly look at 3 different 24-27" screens (left-center-right). (2) your work won't allow 7 ft mid field listening during weekdays.

For me it is so that I am at office for 1 to 4 hours a day but I move around between our testing centre and office so that is my work days use scenario. So semi portable full sised sealed cans work well for me. Well I hope ZMF puts their high end driver in more minimalistic cans that are ergonomic enough for portable use. I wouldnt mind buying a DAP if needed.

In this case Id like them be more laconic because I dont want to scratch some 1k cans polished wood. Btw, there arent many great options for sealed cans as far as I know. Maybe the Fostex would be quite good. I am quite happy with MSR7 currently. Exeptional build quality imo. Really premium leather stitching on the pads. But these got me interested in these sealed cans and what else is there.

Drops fostex-based cans are all recommendable from my POV. Either TH-X00 or EMU wood (full-sized). I don't expect a lot for sealed cans, but Verite closed changed me prejudice (it's far far far better than Eikon). And FWIW focal closed ones look very promising, too. Eligia might fit your bill I guess?
