Closed back bass is the cats pajamas

More or less I need it for the isolation. Never thought that would ever become an issue, but the day came.

I use my closed backs daily.
Open headphones not so much.

What did you choose?

Chose the Focal Elegia. I really wanted an Atticus but it's not avilable in a wood I like (plus I need it sooner rather than later).

You coulda just borrowed my modded X00! I never got along with the Elegia.

Thanks @E_Schaaf, but I probably wouldn't have taken it anyhow. I thought the Elegia was alright (not offensive) when I tried the loaner, and I need something that's good but not so good I get distracted while working

If I'm honest I think Atticus might fall into the camp of being distracting, but I'd have to see since that's the one that I'd like if prior listening at a meet is anything to go by

Elegia isolates way better than the X00. @E_Schaaf Not sure if your mods help with that?

Just a hair. Elegia does offer a better seal, that's true.

I'm less concerned about total sound isolation for myself and more concerned about sound leaking out of the headphone. So probably that TH-X00 would have been 100% fine in that regard.
