Thinking about it, no duh, but I feel power delivery doesn't matter as much for BA IEMs as DD. None of the usual improvements IME. Mar 26, 2024 at 8:17 PM

I've been following SMBC for ages now, can't remember exactly when but there was a period some time back when I just started randomly following loads of comics accounts haha. No idea if this is new or just new to me but I saw it yesterday and thought it was hilarious.

There are five or six comics I follow daily, mostly by habit! I got this one from the list on xkcd. Sometimes I like it, sometime I don't, but it stays on the list somehow.

Now I'm just sad all over again my laptop can't handle The Witcher 3 haha. I'm actively avoiding the gacha component but for a mostly mobile game I'm having a surprising amount of fun just exploring every nook and cranny. Who knows maybe if there were a weeb Witcher I'd be a gamer again :))

Honestly I'd say the 10xx series is probably pushing retirement age pretty soon here. I'd save up and hold off on the trigger for as long as you can, and either spring for the 30xx series or find something in the 20xx series at a good discount.

Adding to that (character limits) the other reason is once the lower end 3060 and 3070 come out, it'll probably drive down the price of your 1070/1080 and 2060s some more, giving you more bang for your buck.

@FallingObjects I'm not buying anytime soon I think, just wanted to make sure I had something lined up for when my pet dinosaur (poor lappy, ageing so quickly) goes into retirement. Good points on the lower-end 30 cards driving the price down and 10 probably losing grace soon, much obliged :)

Thank you! This is actually exactly what I was hoping for, though I wonder at whether the Maven mini won't be significantly gimped if used for measurements?

My level of knowledge about mics is such that I hadn't even considered polar patterns (yes I looked it up). Gah.

You want an omni mic for measurements. Directional mics have different purpose. The Maven is designed to reject room ambience. Think of microphones like camera lenses. They have different goals depending on design.

Convenience or grocery store bought sushi (entire set or tray, not individual pieces) can be thrown in the microwave for 20 or so seconds to warm up the sushi piece just enough to give it that fresh from the chef's hand taste...

Screw sleep. Ghost Stories (2020), Indian horror anthology. Getting late so watching this one piecemeal but first couple stories have good pacing and are genuinely unnerving. Tendency for some shots to linger uncomfortable stretches of time but it's used to good effect.

Acting is pretty ace, and there's a profound sense of squick and tension when need be. Characters also teeter between hateable and sympathetic.
