I'm in the process of going through a 10' x 10' storage unit to get rid of what I don't need. I live in a condo. So the storage unit is what would be my garage and attic storage. When you have space for storage it fills up. Till it has no more room. Time for me to make room. For different stuff.
My bedroom is 10x10, it became a storage unit. But now that I am moving out of my parents house in a few months after college, I have to get rid of all my shit
While going through my storage unit I discovered I still have some college shit like notebooks of lectures and reading material. It's amazing what accumulates when there is space to store it.
I will say that one benefit of having storage space is that I still have all of the original boxes for my audio gear if I need to sell or ship it. On the other hand, I still had my college notebooks and materials from my economics classes in 80s.
I had a similar cleaning many years ago. Fortunately I kept a few very significant items. One was my treatise on The History of Electricity which had a stellar bibliography including books written by Benjamin Franklin and Alessandro Volta.
Imagine going into a library archive, many floors below ground and finding books (the originals) written by those preceding us. Pretty amazing. Now you can't even get close to those writings.
