Thinking about it, no duh, but I feel power delivery doesn't matter as much for BA IEMs as DD. None of the usual improvements IME. Mar 26, 2024 at 8:17 PM

I don't drink. I didn't make a thing of giving up, just realised that I hadn't for a while and it might as well stay that way. ok, so I do have thoughts about how much harm alcohol does, and it wouldn't have been my choice of drug to be legal.

But cooking is cooking. And the alcohol is going to get driven off anyway.

I know you have a thing for noise-ish music and the like (remember some of your uploads, enjoy them) but I think DJ AC's cuts are a little bit too one-dimensional with odd order harmonics too prominent.

Also this reminds me "aircon" isn't really an international name for it, haha.

Not worth another status: Tyll mentioned somewhere that "microphonics" as used to refer to mechanical transmission of noise via cable wasn't correct but with IF down I can't exactly find the context. Does anyone remember the term he used? It's been bugging me for a few weeks.

I remember that...I think the phrase was "microphony" or "prone to microphonism" The Wikipedia quote:
"Microphonics, microphony, or microphonism describes the phenomenon wherein certain components in electronic devices transform mechanical vibrations into an undesired electrical signal (noise). The term comes from analogy with a microphone, which is intentionally designed to convert vibrations to electrical signals."

Kids on head-if bitching about something is evidence that it’s not a problem. Head-fiers are mostly retards. I can’t imagine breaking a 2.5mm jack. Seriously I don’t even know how if I wanted to. Do they run over their iem’s with semi trucks? AK might be switching because everyone is stupid and using 4.4 so they’re going with the flow.

Rock music is usually mixed in with the other instruments, almost too much sometimes, like certain Soundgarden recordings. Sometimes I actually do want to hear Cornell belt it out.

yeah, different people use different words, RTings specifically refers to telecenic judder as judder, and sample and whole judder as stutter. one is avoidable with proper pulldown, the other is only avoidable on low frame rate sources like movies and tv shows with frame interpolation or impulse display technologies
