Push it to the limit! Bodyweight exercises are a far better option the older you get. I'm 35 and I don't lift weights anymore; too many injuries. Running can get dangerous too. My hurt locker = a rowing machine. Humbling...
I can crank out 13-14 pull ups, but I've been at it steady for 3 years now. I have a rowing machine, but the trick will be squeezing it into the bedroom at my new shared apartment. I'm thinking a murphy bed to free up some room...
@jowls I have had the waterrower, for 3 years now ;) My room is 12'x13' and has my audio gear, 52" TV, queen size bed, Panasonic massage chair... Standing the waterrower is no problem, I need the murphy bed to be able make room to use it.
@Eric_C: Really just hanging for dear life. I think going from 1 to 2 is the most difficult. Lots of forearm and hand muscles first need development. I think from 4, I can hit 10 quickly. I also hit rowing machines and did curls. But pulls strain the ligaments so much more.
Take it easy Marv. Shoulders are easy to get injured and as we get older, harder to recover. When I go running (not often as I would like), I try to run comfy and not strain myself too much even if I can do more.
