    In my mind, you need to tailor the rest of your chain for maximum synergy with your transducers. So in any audio system, the transducers should be the first consideration and the first purchase.

    @Merrick I’ve come to learn this in a roundabout way. Also, important to know presentation preferences. Klipsch kills me; Dynaudio loves me.

    For me, the conundrum is…how do I know I /really/ like these speakers, if I don't like what I hear with gear I also like?

    chicken vs. egg.

    But generally I agree: match stuff with speakers.

    I'm doing the fiddling with headphones instead of speakers. New amps, awaiting new DAC. Keeping headphones for now, for something to be recognizable.
