I keep seeing people recommend this as a preamp to a headphone amp like the 789 to "give tube flavor and take the edge off". If your 789 sounds like ass, buying a DV isn't the answer to making it sound better. Brainwashed measurement sheeple amaze me.

Agree, but we also had people putting Saga in front of OG Jotunheim to get some of that tube flavor too. People do odd things.

My mind is even more blown when I realized a used 789 + used DV is about $400...

LOL. The Darkvoice 336 is still around? It was FOTM on head-fi like 14 years ago. And it sucked then.
