Although they haven't released anything really good in a very long time i would be disappointed to see them get bought by some shady company just to take advantage of the brand "weight", like we've seen in other situations.
really sad but I guess not unexpected with the glacial pace of product development. Apple owns the stylish/status/convenience above all else side of the market. Senn have no chance. Also many audiophiles have moved on from the HD800S. It is no longer an aspirational item with all the new planars and Focal really bringing it with an onslaught of cans which have a better tonal balance out of the box. No HD900 then :(
I’m not surprised. I think they’ve mostly been monetizing their brand and failing to innovate for a long time now. I wonder if Axell leaving was an early indicator
Their "pro" stuff is the broadcast stuff and it is good and priced high. I'm sure they will find a Chinese suiter to scoop up the name, kind of like what happened to Volvo and a bunch of hifi names like Quad, Wharfedale, Luxman, etc.
