A buddy of mine calls them modern Cerwin Vega. Fun rock speakers but that about it- not exactly neutral or refined. At least not their lower end models.
@rlow That is kind of what a figured, big departure from my British sensibilities, haha. My dad talks about some old Cerwin Vega speakers being the favorite speakers he ever owned, but he is a hard rock or bust guy. Maybe I try them and then pass along to him to replace his Klipsch KG4s.... EDIT: Agreed, the rustic hickory is gorgeous
@rlow That is what I am thinking. They would be stepping in place of some very smooth/easy listening Epicure M100s in the living room. Would be fun to try out as living room/party speakers.
A good point @Vtory, I am a sucker for looking for validation...and my wife is a bit less thrilled about whim $1k speaker purchases. I think I will snag and report back though, will be fun to try out and is relatively low cost all things considered.
Zu are generally too expensive for what they are. You'd be better off picking up some Tekton Lore. Better speakers for the same price. I've heard both Zu and Tekton.
