Ok you’re getting them too? Google pop up ads when you click a link to a thread? I cleared my iPhone Safari browser history and cookies and it seems to have gone away.

@rlow Yeah, it takes me to an ad instead of the thread. I just cleared cookies and browser history too, hopefully that does the trick.

I don't see any other than the directly sponsored ads when I'm logged in. See them when I'm not logged in though.

I'm still getting ads. Was wondering if it's related to contributor status. It's weird. It's only happening on SBAF.

Did you try another browser or computer? That could narrow it down.

Set up a trust and fund it sufficiently to cover operation costs in perpetuity?

If you can isolate it to one device, then not to be alarmist but I know various badware/malware can cause that kind of behavior. So you may want to run a scan for those.

yeah I get random ad pop ups on my phone whenever I click on a thread, but not on the computer

@tommytakis Has it always been that way, or only recently? I'm basically never sitting at a computer (gasp!), So I always browse SBAF on my phone and haven't had ads like this before.
Running a Malwarebytes scan right now.

Malwarebytes found nothing and multiple Friends are having the problem as well, so it sounds like maybe something with the site an admin has to fix?

I'm on Edge (Chromium) and haven't noticed anything. Same with my phone (Samsung Internet browser). Could it mayhap be a regional thing? Not sure how that makes sense

Just my personal feeling, but I'd say contributors should not feel bad about ad-blocking. Maybe even a modest contribution is more than SBAF makes from us merely seeing ads as we browse.

Personal experience: I browse SBAF almost entirely on PC, not phone. I don't have my ad-blocker turned on for this site. I'm not seeing intrusive ads.

I got them too since 2-3 days ago but only on my phone using Chrome browser.
